Taking a short break

Things are crazy busy for me at the moment. I am trying to make up the hours at work following my trip to Australia, we are moving in a couple of weeks and I am doing a spot of Easter making for my table at the WI shopping evening. This week I'm working at college every day as well as looking after my crazy kids, kidding myself that I might get some packing done and challenging myself to finish some of the crafty stuff I started.

Something has to give, so seeing as I need more brain power than I currently have to write a blog post and really in the grand scheme of things, blogging is a bit more of a hobby than a necessity I have chosen to take a break. I need to earn money and packing my precious things carefully is a bit more important than collecting my thoughts and putting them out there.

I might try and post a picture now again though over the next month, especially if I can find ones as good as this drawing by Charlie of a cow being abducted by aliens from a farm. This was a Mother's Day present and came in a series of other drawings.

See you soon

    1. The more I pack, the more I like my empty looking uncluttered house. I'm tempted to leave everything in boxes.

  3. Good luck with everything, don't work yourself too hard.

    1. I have been totally distracted by Easter making for a table I have at a shopping evening, so need to get back to the packing after that

Firsts

It's been a day of firsts. I have been feeling a little bit under the weather and after being sick this morning I did not want to sit in the car for hours. So my husband and children have gone to visit my family without me. This did make me so sad but as there was nothing I could do about it, I thought I would just do my best to enjoy having time completely to myself. I have never been alone in the house over night. People have been away and I've been away but I have never had the whole place to myself for the whole night. I've finally got to grips with instagram and how the liking and the following and the whole thing works. I even got my first ever like which was so exciting. I'm guessing it's pretty addictive. Who should I follow? Where do I find people who love the same things as me? I think I still need a bit of help. And for the first time ever, an ironing board has been the object of my desire. I don't think that it even crossed my mind that ironing...

My first giveaway - Mod Podge Paperweight

My first giveaway I have learnt so much about blogging in such a short space of time, but what seems strikingly obvious is how important your readers are. One of the other things I noted is, the generosity of the bloggers with their giveaways. Everyone likes to get something for nothing, it is always quite exciting to be a winner and what better way to keep and increase your readership. What's even better is, that I get to make up the rules. So I am very pleased to announce my first giveaway. This is it. It is a glass paperweight that I made today using some scrap material from my quilt, a charity shop treasure and one of my favourite new discoveries - Mod Podge How I made it Materials * A glass tile (I found this one in the 50p basket in a charity shop yesterday) *Some totally gorgeous fabric - this is Kaffe Fassett Fabric - Milliefiore - Red * Sparkle Mod Podge It was really quite simple after I had found all the materials. I measured and cut the fabric to the sam...

Gathered

The more I craft, the more I read and blog about craft. One of my favourite crafty magazines is Mollie Makes . If the world were just like an edition of Mollie Makes magazine then I would be very happy. It is just filled with the most deliciously fabulous craftiness and super talented people. I really do look forward to every copy dropping on the door mat each month. Recently life has got even better because the makers of Mollie Makes now produce a weekly online interactive magazine called Gathered. Once again it is full to the brim with beautiful loveliness and is out every Friday with all the best ideas to keep you busy over the next week. I do love it so and even better than all of that, this week one of my photos has been included in the Show and Tell collection. I was so excited. It's a photo of my crochet African flowers stacked up ready to make to make a Christmas stocking that you can see here and I am hoping to sell at the school Christmas fair on Thursday but i...
