Charlie had breakfast with the neighbours Shot beer cans and milk cartons off the cool box Had a five legged race Painted a mug Josie watched the world go by With a tin cup on her head We went on a deer hunt Walked in the woods Josie had her turn on Whacky Wheelers We had a barbeque by the lake and played snakes and ladders I would love it if you could leave a comment.  Settling in  Getting to know everyone And making friends We played mini golf Tried out some circus skills And plate spinning Josie learned how to play clock patience.   Played in the park. What we did...Summer Holidays 2012 Day 19

We had the classic cornflakes and coffee breakfast by the lake. Charlie shared some with the swans, ducks and geese. We met a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the woods. Charlie got his last electronic fix. Made some new friends. And Josie had her first ever Pot Noodle (Original Curry) I would love it if you could leave a comment. Please give it a go, I'm working on making it easier.

What we did...Summer Holidays 2012 Day 18

 I am slightly cheating now with my summer holiday posts as I need to write posts the last five days, in one go. We have been away camping again to Wellington Country Park near Reading. To start with there was no internet access and then the battery died on my phone so I had a gadget free, back to nature holiday, relaxing in the woods. I would love it if you could leave a comment. What we did...Summer Holidays 2012 Day 17

Today's post is dedicated to a make over. We are all packed up ready for our holiday. Josie spent the day at a friend and I allowed Charlie to remain glued to the computer, iPad and TV as we are off to live without electricity for a few days.   BEFORE This is a rather shabby looking plastic photo pocket display that I have had since Josie was born. Quite a few of the pockets were ripped and it was definitely looking a little worse for wear. Despite taking digital photos everyday, I very rarely get them developed. I have kind of got out of the habit. I ordered some last week and the postman brought them today, which was actually quite exciting. AFTER I modge podged a piece of white fabric onto the back so that it would hold all the ripped pockets back together. Then I used a scrap of fabric to bind the edges and filled it with photos of our recent exploits. I stitched the binding on to reinforce everything and stop the whole thing falling apartf and pi...

What we did...Summer Holidays 2012 Day 16

The woods in Kent in the summer are beautiful. They provide shade but allow the sunlight to shimmer through the leaves that gently rustle in the cool breeze. After spending the day at home, pottering around, tidying areas and weeding the garden, we went to the woods to climb trees and go for a run.

Last night I was too busy making this skirt and watching the exciting events at the Olympics to blog. I am getting the hang of making clothes now. I didn't use a pattern, it's just a gathered skirt with an elasticated waist. I even managed to line it and I love the print.
